60 Metres

Currently this allocation is available until 23:59 hours on 30 June 2015 unless otherwise announced.

However the following information was released by OfCom in May 2010:-

Existing Notices of Variation (NoVs) of Amateur Radio Full Licences for the purpose of facilitating use of frequencies in the 5 MHz (experimental) band will expire on 30 June 2010.

Following consent from the Ministry of Defence (MOD), Ofcom is able to permit operation of stations by amateur radio (Full) Licensees using specified frequencies in the 5 MHz experimental band until 30 June 2015.

Any amateur radio Full Licensee wishing to operate in the 5 MHz experimental band after 30 June 2010 must obtain a NoV by completing an updated application form.

The following 7 segments are available for experimentation on this band:-

1) 5.2585 – 5.2615
2) 5.2785 – 5.2815
3) 5.2885 – 5.2915
4) 5.3665 – 5.3695
5) 5.3715 – 5.3745
6) 5.3985 – 5.4015
7) 5.4035 – 5.4065

Look for the UK 5MHz beacon network transmissions: in my experience there are some useful propagation conditions to be exploited on this band.

There are numerous resources on the Internet so how about signing the 60M guest book?
